The compassion and benevolence of a mother can never be replaced. A woman brings a new life to the earth. Babies are to be nurtured and cared for sincerely for a long time before they stand on their feet and understand the glory of being alive. Breastfeeding forms an essential component of motherhood. Women might complain that breastfeeding is both physically and emotionally draining, and inconvenient for working women. But they need to remind themselves constantly as to how breastfeeding helps develop immunity in their baby, helps brain development, and acts as an irreplaceable source of nutrients. It also acts as an agent of mobility and independence for the baby. It needs both constant encouragement and application of practical techniques.

It is essential that the entire body of the baby is turned towards the mother during the breastfeeding exercise. The baby must be raised to a level so that her mouth is comfortably close to the nipple, as whenever she opens her mouth to feed, she doesn’t have to struggle. Leaning back slightly makes it comfortable for both. Breastfeeding can be done as and when needed. However, if the mother feels that the breasts have become sore or full, and in the other case when the baby signals being hungry, are the best times. This is undoubtedly the best way to calm down a wailing child.
Breastfeeding while on the go
As the baby feels the warmth and closeness of the mother, her immunity goes up involuntarily. This also stimulates milk production in the mother. A baby carrier or baby sling helps the movement of both mother and child, strengthening their defenses. These days many bookstores, cafes, and departmental stores have private space available for women to have some comfortable time feeding their baby. While the mother enjoys her time out and about, breastfeeding perpetuates the health requirement of the baby.

Prepare a checklist
Hospitals or pediatrician often supplement mothers with a checklist that must be used as breastfeeding exercise begins. The questions that are included in the checklist can be the following inquiries.
-Whether breastfeeding is done more than 12 times in 24 hours.
-Does the baby have very heavy nappies 6 times a day?
-Does the baby pass yellow stool once a day in the first 4 to 6 weeks?
-Is the mother’s milk the only liquid component the baby receives?
-Does the baby take another breast before getting full from one?
-If the baby pacified or sleepy after breastfeeding?
-Are there any problems associated with nipples or breastfeeding altogether?
Find assistance if breastfeeding hurts
It might for a little difficult for new mothers who are unaccustomed to breastfeeding. A lactation expert can quickly come to rescue if there are some teething problems or if the baby suckles the wrong way. Watch out for a breast infection, redness or soreness, that might need to be medically examined.
Be careful about lumps
Lumps in the breasts mean that the mother is at the risk of mastitis. It can be painful and be accompanied by high fever. A hot shower and gentle massage of breasts are recommended, but of course, a doctor’s examination is always welcome.
Set a duration
Breastfeeding doesn’t have to go for indefinitely long even if it is the only thing that keeps the baby pacified. It must not go beyond 20 minutes. Breasts must be carefully released from their mouth with a clean finger. A pacifier can be used for the baby but only after a month of birth.
Get a clear mindset
Motherhood is a beautiful challenge. Women must prepare themselves to sit patiently for almost 30 hours a week for breastfeeding their babies. Mother’s milk has some excellent nutrients which if denied can haunt the baby’s health for a lifetime. Women can watch television, work on any relevant hobby, surf the internet, or any other normal activities to avoid boredom. Drink lots of water, get a nice place to slouch, wear practical clothing and be happy while feeding the baby with brilliance.
