Use a conditioner almost every time you use a shampoo
Using a color protecting conditioner every time you shampoo is a great way to protect the hair. Also, it gives you a shiny and fine look. If you are someone who already has fine hair, condition the tips of the hair to make it even.
Avoid sulfates
Sulfates can strip color from your hair. Find shampoos that do not contain sulfates and use them.

Use clarifying shampoos before coloring
If you are covering up gray hair, try to use clarifying shampoos. Also never use it immediately after coloring, as it will remove the color from the hair.
Use color protecting shampoo
After you go dry for the first few days, you eventually have to shampoo your hair. So use a color protecting shampoo, to enjoy the benefits of shampoo without losing the color.
Invest in the best conditioner in town
When you don’t invest in a good conditioner, you run the risk of losing the color from newly dyed hair. You must not hesitate to get the best conditioner, that helps to protect the color. Conditioners containing oils like Tahitian Monoi and Ojon nut would be your best bet. They create a physical barrier to protect your tresses from the color bleaching effects of shampoo and will reduce fading too.
Add Smoothness and luster to your dyed hair
Deep conditioning treatment once a week will help in adding smoothness and luster to the hair. Here is how you can do it:
- Apply treatment to the damp hair.
- Comb it from roots to tips.
- Form a bun with your hair.
- Pin it up in place.
- Wrap it up in a towel.
- Leave treatment for 30 minutes
- Rinse it out for softer and shinier hair.
